Alexa Kelly


Alexa Kelly is a director, a teacher and an actor.

Alexa is co-founder and Artistic Director of Pulse Ensemble Theatre, founded in NYC in 1989.  She has taught and directed across the USA at Universities and regional theatres.  She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Harlem Summer Shakespeare (15 years) a very popular, site-specific free summer theatre outreach project, based in the beautiful river-side amphitheatre in Riverbank State Park.                                                                                                                                                    Her work has been critically reviewed in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and most of the papers and online sites in NYC.
She is the writer and director of the play W.E.B. DU BOIS: A Man For All Times, which features Brian Richardson as Dr. Du Bois.  This play has toured internationally and in Colleges and Libraries around the USA to very high critical acclaim.    As a director, Alexa is very much acting and motion oriented, and believes the audience MUST be entertained and absorbed by the work.  She loves teaching on the College level, and  acting when she get the chance!
