SUCH NICE SHOES, a new solo show by Christine Renee Miller - Submitted by Christine Renee Miller
April 6 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Written and performed by Christine Renee Miler, Such Nice Shoes follows a private yoga teacher and hopeful actress-to-be on a typical day from hell. Filled to the brim with characters who are as vibrant as they are believable Such Nice Shoes starts off like any New York City day: with a commute.
Like everyone else on the subway, the heroine in Such Nice Shoes is just trying to make a living. But this is New York City. Over the course of the day we see our protagonist bomb an audition, run late for appointments with rich clients because of delays on the MTA, give money to the homeless, and receive news from her doctor that she may have breast cancer.
At the end of this day from hell Christine is faced with a daunting question: Is the hustle for tomorrow worth anything if you can’t survive today?
“…it so perfectly captures the soul of New York that anyone who has ever had to commute on the MTA will be slapping their knees or gasping in vicarious horror.” – Plays to See
“Hilarious and heartbreaking…A beautiful story told by a magnificent actress.” – Theater is Easy, Best Bet!
“Miller’s performance is astounding!” – Stage Buddy
“A gem!” – Used York City
