Paula Cizmar’s play STILL LIFE WITH PARROT & MONKEY, a comedy about consciousness and connection, appears in the anthology Living and Writing on American’s Left Coast: Contemporary Women’s Plays, published by Murasaki Books, an imprint of LRS. In the introduction, Jon Klein, head of the MFA Playwriting Program at Catholic University in Washington D.C., writes that “Cizmar takes E.M. Forster’s famous prescription, ‘Only connect,’ channels it through the iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, and (literally) sends lightning bolts into the lives of two ordinary women trying to understand their purposes in life.”
